Monday's Featured Etsy Seller

Ok, so I know it's Tuesday, I'm slacking a little in this department. So Monday's Featured seller is TheFetchingHound. I was doing a search one day for Truffles on etsy looking for something to bring along to Thanksgiving when I came across the Itty Bitty Bites. The picture looked yummy so I thought I would check them out. Wow, does she have a variety of those things. It was hard to decide what I wanted to get!! These things are great, they are balls of cake (your choice), swirled in frosting then dipped in candy coating. You get 12 of these in each order, I of course couldn't decide and bought two different flavors (the two pictured above)!!! She even sent us a few samples of other flavors available and I think next time I will try the Coconut Dream!! If these don't sound that appealing to you she also has cookies and some other goodies listed in her store. TheFetchingHound is a registered LLC and all items are made in a licensed kitchen. So if your looking for a great gift for someone or a treat to bring along to a Holiday party I suggest checking out TheFetchingHound, I know I'll be back for more for Christmas!!

Monday's Featured Etsy Seller-CMK Crafts

Todays featured seller is CMK Crafts. CMK Crafts specializes in paintings and crafts that are made to order. Chris is the owner of CMK Crafts, she has been painting for many years now. Right now her specialty is painting animals and nature. She loves doing custom orders for her customers. What normally happens is someone will send Chris a picture of their animal and she will reproduce that picture onto the item of your choice. For example, she will paint that picture on a box, ornament, clock or she can make a pattern of that picture and put it on a pillow or quilt. I've added a few pictures of some boxes that Chris has created for customers and an original photo that was sent to her. Right now she is also listing several Christmas themed items that she recently created and is offering some great deals for the Holiday shopping. If you are looking for a unique one of a kind item I suggest you check out this shop cmkcrafts.etsy.com Chris also has a website where you can see more of her work and learn a little more about her, http://www.cmkcrafts.com/

Friday's Etsy Seller

So I've decided that on Monday's and Friday I am going to be featuring fellow etsy sellers. Today I'm featuring the teaman. I found the teaman while searching the forums and his tea's sounded so good that I had to buy some. Now these were originally purchased as gifts for grandparents but they smelled so good that we had to try them out!! Needless to say, I now need to purchase more to replace the ones we are now keeping. I'm not normally a big fan of flavored tea but I really enjoyed both of the flavors we tried, Apple Cinnamon Green tea and Vanilla. The teaman is located in Howell, MI and has been hand making tea since 1994. If you are a fan of tea or know someone who is you should really check out his shop. He has a variety of flavors and also has some sets that include nice tins available and he has great prices. teaman.etsy.com

Holiday Sale

Well my original plan was start my holiday sale on Thanksgiving and run it until December 1st. That plan is now out the window!! I've decided to start it a little early, so as of last night everything is 25% off (prices have already been adjusted in the store) and free shipping on purchases over $30. I've seen so many ads lately trying to get people into the stores doing some Holiday shopping and I figured why not start mine early to. Depending on how it goes I may extend it past the 1st. I'm also working on a few new ideas so look for those in the next few weeks as well.

Showcase

Well I was in the Main Showcase yesterday and I was really hoping for some sales. I didn't get a single one and my views barely moved. I guess no one looks at the Showcases?? From what I've read in the forums the past few days (after I bought the showcase spot) most people find their items through a search, front page, treasury or gift guides. I personally look at the showcases everyday to see what people are showing off. I've found some great finds that way, guess I'm one of few that actually look at them. Oh well, it was a learning experience and I've learned that it wasn't worth my $15!! I've got two more showcases coming up, this time I'll be in the Art showcase. I've got a spot on Black Friday and also Cyber Monday, we'll see if I get any sales from those but I"m not holding my breath!!

Main Showcase Wednesday, November 19th

I'm really excited. I was able to snag a spot in the Main Showcase for tomorrow, Wednesday November 19th. It was hard to get, the page seemed to take forever to load but I finally got on and was able to quickly get one. I think they sold out in about 5 minutes. I've got a spot in the Art Showcase on Friday November 28th and also on Monday December 1st. I'm hoping for some big sales, we'll see. I've read mixed reviews on the showcases. Half say they aren't worth it and the other half say they are. I'm one who looks at the showcases on a daily basis, so to me it was worth giving it a try. I figured there has to be others out there like me who look at it, hopefully those folks take a look tomorrow!! I plan to take a look at my views tonight before I log off and then compare them to the numbers on Thursday morning. I'll post after that and let you know if was worth it or not!! Wish me luck.

Great new purchase on Etsy.com

I was searching the forums on etsy.com yesterday and came across this wonderful store that carries kids stuff. The name of the store is The Polka Dot Tot Spot, it's great, she has jingle balls, cloth blocks, cloths, banners and more!! I bought the dinosaur jingle ball to the left for my 1 year old. I saw it and had to get it for him as a Christmas gift. And of course like all stores on etsy all of her stuff is handmade!! If anyone is looking for a great gift this holiday season for a little one I suggest you check out her store http://www.thepolkadottotspot.etsy.com/

Weather

I'm sitting here looking at the Radar and wishing I still lived on the West side of Michigan. We have maybe an inch of snow on the ground here, probably not even that much. The west side of the side is getting hit with lake effect snow right now, well at least they are where I used to live. How I wish we got the amount of snow on this side of the state that they do over there. I'm a snow lover and winters just aren't the same to me living over here. I know it sounds weird but I miss the Snow Squauls, Blizzards and Lake Effect snow. We don't really get that stuff over here. Once in awhile we'll get a nice snow storm, but not as often as my parents do.

Holiday EtsyFest

I will be participating in the First ever Holiday EtsyFest taking place November 27th-December 1st. There are going to be several etsy shops participating in this big event, all giving you some great deals for the big holiday shopping weekend. For those of you unfamiliar with etsy.com it is a handmade only website, an easy way that I describe it to family is that it's a giant craft show online!! It's a great site for buying gifts for yourself or someone on your holiday shopping list!! I will post more information on this sale as it becomes available. Keep checking the Holiday EtsyFest links on the right hand side of my blog for the main link!!

Photography Business

So I decided to start a photography business (http://www.klemanphotography.com/) after being convinced by my family that it was something I should really go after. I'm pretty excited about it although I picked the wrong time of year to get started here in Michigan (it's snowing out and I do mostly outdoor pictures)!! I have done some photo sessions for family and friends in the last month and I've already got some sessions lined up for next spring and summer. In the meantime I've also opened a shop on etsy.com (the coolest site ever!!) to sell some of my nature prints and greeting cards (they have the same prints on them). So even though this is going to be a slow time of year for my photography business I'm hoping it will be a good time of year for me to capture some great winter scenes for my prints and greeting cards. I've got a couple of craft shows coming up that I am looking forward to, I'm bringing the prints and greeting cards, of course!!
